The Center is in the process of preparing assessment
questions to facilitate cross-project analysis among longitudinal
research studies on substance abuse and its interplay with HIV
infection, substance abuse treatment, and other service systems
(e.g., mental health, criminal justice, welfare, medical care). Center
investigators encourage researchers to include comparable measures
in new grant proposals and in their intake/baseline and follow-up
assessment instruments to allow analyses and comparisons across
projects, including CALDAR archived data sets.
Assessment measures (and corresponding response categories) were
developed from information provided by NIDA’s National Drug
Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (CTN). CALDAR proposes
these measures as the minimum standard HIV risk assessment questions
to facilitate cross-project analysis.
The Brief Drug Use History form is part of the UCLA Natural History
Interview (NHI), which has been administered to thousands of drug
users over the past 25 years. CALDAR proposes these measures
as the minimum standard drug use history assessment questions to
facilitate cross-project analysis.
CALDAR-Proposed Criminal History Assessment Questions
CALDAR proposes these measures, which are questions that are found on many different instruments, as the minimum standard criminal history assessment questions to facilitate cross-project analysis.
